Our driving instructors will help you to prepare for the theory test which every learner needs to pass prior to booking their practical test. You'll also receive valuable tips and information.
The Driving Standards Agency recommends that most learners take at least 45 hours of professional tuition and plenty of private practice.
Driving is is a practical skill, therefore the more you practice the better you will become.
All pupils are different, some will learn quicker than others but remember that the aim is for pupils to be safe on the road. A good instructor will match your lessons to your rate of learning.
Your practical driving test will start with an eyesight check and some vehicle safety questions.
The driving part of your test will last about 40 minutes, this currently will include one reversing exercise and 20 minutes of driving independently, 4 out of 5 tests will be following a satelite navigation, 1 in 5 will follow road signs. Approximately 1 in 3 driving tests will be asked to do an emergency stop. Throughout the test your examiner will be looking for an overall safe standard of driving, including when you are carrying out set exercises. You can make up to 15 driving faults and still pass the test (16 or more results in failure). However, if you commit one serious or dangerous fault you will fail the test.
